Changers in the it book compared to it films
Now this is for the amount of changers there have been made from the book to the movie adaptions.
Book vs 1990s Miniseries
First off let's list the Changes because this miniseries/2hour movie structures itself like the book then the remakes.

1987 Book 1990 Film
The second change is that the whole miniseries keeps cutting to them older and remising the days where they meet penny-wise to stopping him. This miniseries is mainly a flashback movie.
Thirdly the time of when they were kids are different between the book and the remake with it taken place in the 50s to show 27 years later the 90s then in the remake it was the 80s then it goes to the 2000s.
The fourth change is that in the book they all sleep with each other but in the movies they don't in the movies because of age ratings. This also doesn't happen i the 2018 or 2019 remake.
The Final change is that in the book they mention a turtle who has created the galaxy or who is all good and pennywise is all darkness and evil. This was never showed in the miniseries but was told in the book which sounded outright ridicules.
The Similarities are as listed
- The Plot is still the same.
- Pennywise is still his main form.
- There is still a spider at the end.
- It Keeps it suspenseful.
The Book Compared to the 2018 Film
The Differences between these movies are that it has more content in the remake of when they were kids then the miniseries has. This basically means we had more screen time with them being kids then with the adults so there was more character development and fresh out their situation and meetings with pennywise or as he is called the entity.
The Second difference is that its darker and because of the modern technology they make it more realistic and terrifying. What makes this scarier is that it's very bloody even though it's a very phycological film and that there are many jump scares. Also, pennywise can shapeshift so it can turn into whatever it wants so it will be unexpected to the audience and the characters what he turns in to. The music accompanies how scary the movie is with given it tension.
The third difference is that it does not have any flashbacks in the first part, and it starts with George been given the paper boat his brother made for his eventual demise. This is with the audience gets introduced to Pennywise in the sewers.
The fourth difference is that the clowns appearance is different to the 1990s iteration of pennywise. They made pennywise more sinister and dirtier with not a bright costume but instead its darkened.
Another difference, is that there are way more visions in the movie and the stakes are much higher. For example, Beavery Marsh gets taken by the clown and the kids need to save her but they get lost and looses each other but they finally defeat pennywise when they unite.
The final difference is it actually shows its true form which is 3 glowing lights which they don't show in the 1990 movie.
This remake, has serval similarities with the book then the 1990 movie it has so much content they had to make two parts.
It chapter 2 is the story that continues with the kids becoming adults and coming back to there home town. These are the differences from It chapter 2 and Stephen king IT part 2.
The Differences Between the 1990s movie and the 21st century remakes
The differences are:
At the climax of the movie they fight pennywise but he isn't a giant spiders as he is in the 1990s adaption and the book but it stays in its clown form with only growing spikey arms.
There are flashbacks to when they were younger throughout the film.
They defeat him differently by insulting them and show they have no fear then hitting it in the chest.
There is again no almighty turtle but there are references to it.
Only because the movies has changed/added content which is different that does not mean there are not any similarities.
The main similarity is the plot where its all the same with them meeting Pennywise when they were kids then they go back to face it when they are older.
The next similarity, is that they kill pennywise for good at the end of the movie and one of the main characters die.
The next similarity is that one of the adults dies when they are called back to there hometown because they are traumatised and terrified of pennywise.
One of the final similarity, I will mention is that they still have the same jobs that they have in both movies and Beverly still have both abusive boyfriends.
